Another ERASMUS+ program, implemented by the “Center for the Advancement of Society” in cooperation with the ISTANBUL PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE OF NATIONAL EDUCATION, has been completed. It is informal education of adults! This time, we provided them with education on two topics: 1. Basics of computer skills, lecturer Nenad Kojić 2. New ways of communication at work, lecturer Marko Janković In addition to the education they had every day, we also provided them with a visit to the House of Flowers! We also organized a Welcome Ceremony for them, where our wonderful guests had the opportunity to learn about folklore and our folk songs. Also, wonderful people from the Turkish Embassy addressed our guests at the ceremony!

It was a pleasure today to attend an online supervision meeting with students/volunteers who have been working individually with children without parental care for almost 12 months! Wonderful stories, questions and suggestions galore! Emotions, tears and happiness because we managed to change the children, to empower them, to open them up, to show them how important they are to us, that we are there for them, that the babies we work with enjoy being hugged and fall asleep carefree, that some of the volunteers venture into foster care, which we are especially proud of! We are also proud that high school students from an international school from Belgrade are very successfully volunteering on the project, who additionally organized several campaigns to buy shoes, clothes, sweets for children from the home❤️ We are proud that we almost always produce many results in our work with one procedure!!! Today, 19 volunteers spoke with us about their experiences and dilemmas, and we expect 22 more at the next meeting! Thank you Alem Dedovic for leading the whole group with your heart! 6 years ago, the “Center for the Advancement of Society” on the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” presented the first results in cooperation with the municipality of Čukarica as part of the project “A step towards an accessible Belgrade”. The presentation was attended by associations of persons with disabilities from the territory of Čukarica and representatives of the municipality. The program refers to the creation of the first electronic register that analyzes and shows which facilities and to what extent they are accessible to people with disabilities, the elderly or people with current injuries, mothers with babies 🙂 Since the cooperation with the municipality of Čukarica started in the middle of the year, 300 buildings have been listed, and the register records another 700 buildings in the territory of the city of Belgrade, which are divided into 15 categories with 65 subcategories. Android application for tourists from abroad “BGD4ALL”. Today, the “Accessible Belgrade” project is waiting for some further financial resources in order to continue developing.

In November, the “Center for the Advancement of Society” in cooperation with @duel._beohemija distributed chemistry packages to three addresses: 1. Center Reto-Ima nade😊 It is a non-profit humanitarian organization whose main activity is the rehabilitation and resocialization of people who have problems with alcohol and drug addiction 2. Through the Barajevo Red Cross, chemical packages were donated to single and socially vulnerable families from this territory 3. Through the Rakovica Red Cross, chemistry packages were donated to single and socially disadvantaged families 😊 One package of chemistry contains washing powder, laundry detergent and floor washing liquid. This month, 250 chemistry brains were donated❤️

Another presentation of the program for children without parental care from Sremska Kamenica and Bela Crkva has been completed! This time we hung out with the students of the Department of Pedagogy of the University of Novi Sad, who most need to volunteer through work with children because they are closely related professionally to that group! The faculty will recognize this program as professional practice. It was a pleasure to talk with them and point out how important the dual education of students, especially social sciences, is, as well as how much their involvement contributes to improving the lives of the vulnerable in the local community. Many thanks to my dear colleague Radenko Kondić, head of the Accommodation Service in the dormitory from Sremska Kamenica, without whose help we would not have established such good cooperation with the University of Novi Sad.
