April 26th, 2023, Our Psychology Students Volunteers Organized Another Workshop for children without parential care

Our volunteers, psychology students, have organized yet another workshop at the institution for children without parental care. They came up with the workshop concept themselves, and it was phenomenal!

The children started with an introductory game – deciding what they would bring to a deserted island. The point was for them to conclude on the principle of choosing items that start with the same letter as their name. Then, they created a story with two different endings. Divided into three groups, each group was given a different theme, and they crafted a story based on that.

In a fun way, the children showcased their writing skills. The fun didn’t end there, as they enjoyed bowling in the courtyard afterward.

We remind you that our goal is to help these children develop in every aspect through socializing and creative activities. This workshop covered multiple developmental areas, and we look forward to the success of each child and our volunteers who never cease to surprise us with their abilities, perhaps previously unknown to them!

  1. Družimo se i učimo zajedno, posvećen maloj deci i

April 20th, 2023, a meeting was held with the expert team regarding the projects “Družimo se i učimo zajedno” (Let’s Play and Learn Together) and “Samostalan ali ne sam” (Independent but Not Alone)

The meeting addressed two projects:

  1. “Družimo se i učimo zajedno,” focusing on young children, led by the Center for Society Advancement,
  2. “Samostalan ali ne sam,” targeted at young people, with the Center Zvezda as the project leader and the Center for Society Advancement as a partner.

It was established that these programs should be an integral part of the daily work of educators and included in the individual plan for each child. Through individualized efforts, these initiatives are fundamentally changing the lives of children without parental care.

We are proud of all that we do, especially when it comes to the well-being of children!

During the Easter holidays, 26 student volunteers spent time with children without parental care in Bela Crkva

During this workshop, the little ones drew, wrote, and read. We are delighted to see them doing so well, and we will strive to nurture and further develop these skills.

We also dedicated a few hours to on-site activities, where the children had the opportunity to compete and engage in some physical activities on the playgrounds.

A special thanks to the volunteers from Belgrade, who, with our support, travel there to provide assistance to these children.

Ovog puta smo pričali o Uskrsu, farbali jaja i pravili uskršnje kese u obliku zeke.

A wonderful Easter gathering with the children from the institution for children without parential care in Bela Crkva

We are developing a new concept of group activities due to a limited number of students for the individual support program, which has now been expanded to include this facility.

Despite facing some challenges, these little ones understood the importance of the activities and dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to solving task. There were 26 children and only four people working with them.

This time, we discussed Easter, painted eggs, and made Easter bags in bunny shape.

Each workshop will have a specific theme, and one will be regularly repeated: focusing on reading, writing, and mathematical operations!

We also have guest speakers who will talk about various topics such as the Internet, health, violence, and human trafficking.

We would like to express our gratitude to MONI and the volunteers for their support on this occasion!

April 3rd, 2023, A regular supervisory meeting was held with mentors working with mentees from the institution for children without parental care

A regular supervisory meeting was held with mentors working with mentees from the institution for children without parental care as part of the “Independent but Not Alone” project held by the Center ZVEZDA in collaboration with the Center for Society Advancement and the Center for the Protection of Infants, Children, and Youth at Zvečanska 7.

For the first time, young individuals who were once in the the facility for children without parential care found themselves in the role of mentors to those preparing to leave the institution.

Despite being a significant challenge for everyone involved, the mentors dedicated themselves to the task and took it seriously. This particularly encourages us to ensure that this form of support becomes a standard practice.
