Finally, we realized a meeting with colleagues from “Children’s Village”, a home for children without parental care, which is really conceived as one big family! The occasion is wonderful, and it is the expansion of the “Let’s get together and learn together” project, a program of individual support for children without parental care and in this home❤️ We have made a draft and the first step and we will soon start with the implementation! Thank you to the colleagues who implement countless educational and creative activities in this home, but they are also very interested in this program because they are sure that this kind of concept is incredibly useful, especially for young people from 14 to 18 years old (which we have not done so far). So they gave us a task, and we believe we can do it, to cover small children as well as young people, a total of 75 of them❤️ Thanks to the company BLACK ROCK, which financially supports this program!

The “Center for the Improvement of Society” successfully continues the program for the independence of young people without parental care under the name “Independent but not alone” and as a partner of the program holder “Center for the Integration of Youth ZVEZDA”. For 20 young people who are leaving the social protection system, or more precisely leaving the home, we organized an introduction to their mentors, and the entire process of their first meeting was conducted by the HR firm “TACK&TMI GLOBAL”. The young people had a great time through interactive games, and as an epilogue to the whole process, the first pairs of mentors and mentees were formed. The basic idea of ​​the program is that young people who left the system a few years ago, those who already faced all the fears and adversities after leaving home because they had no one and nothing, be mentors to the young people who are now leaving the system! They should help young people to fit into the local community as easily as possible and successfully start an independent life, to avoid many pitfalls that the “old locals” went through! A wonderful group, exceptional young people, whom you would never say live in a home, beautiful, well-dressed, hard-working, some of them are already working, and they achieve all this themselves and move forward! Many thanks to Radisson Collection Hotel, Old Mill Belgrade who provided us with his wonderful space to work for free, as well as food and drinks! We invite all donors to get involved because the funds for this program are currently limited We do not have, but we provide HUGE support to these young people without parents who grow up alone in foster care, most of them from birth

In order to support our students/practitioners in working with children without parental care, we try to organize as regular supervisions as possible in order to analyze the results, examples of good practice (for which they are responsible) and solve dilemmas in their work so that they can be even better! Today we supervised 17 of them, we are waiting for the rest on Zoom in the coming days 🙂

Teaching young people, especially students, is a great pleasure! Today we educated another group, 11 of them out of a total of 63 students who are included in the program of individual support for children without parental care, called “Let’s socialize and learn together”. Most of this group goes to the Inpatient Clinic, in order to work with the youngest children, from two to four years old❤️

And today we would like to especially thank BOSCH, who provided vouchers for 2000 dinars for Vulkan bookstores, in order to honor our students for their commitment and the enormous support they provide to these children❤️

The team of the “Center for the Improvement of Society” visited the Mitov family from Nis as part of the “Support to Single Parents” project. This family has 11 members, two sisters who live in the house with their children and parents. The older sister has two children, a boy (8 years old) and a girl (7 years old), while the younger sister has five children, three girls (13, 9 and 4 years old) and two boys (12 and 6 years old). The parents of these sisters, who are in their late years and in poor health, live with them. The older sister, with her children, lives in 13m2, while the younger sister, with her five children, lives in 12m2. The house they live in is not fully built, which is why this family can only use two rooms on the ground floor. The house has no roof or gutters, which is why the rooms are full of mold and moisture. The “Center for Digital Inclusion” will, as before, help the family by donating food. Also, this Center, in its premises, organizes help for children in learning and doing homework. The “Center for the Improvement of Society” helped this family by donating clothes for all family members, as well as by donating chemistry, and we are also planning to buy bunk beds so that the children have a place to sleep. ❤️ We invite all socially responsible companies and individuals to join the Mitov family support project!😍 It’s necessary:

1. install the roof and gutters on the house

2. complete the construction of the upper floor of the house

3. clean the house of moisture and paint it

4. equip/renovate the bathroom

5. get new furniture – table, chairs, sofa, wardrobe…
